If you’ve ever wondered why we recommend coming in for your wax every 4 weeks, or why we offer a maintenance discount only within that timeframe — this post is for you.

Let’s break it down.

Waxing Is Most Effective on a Schedule

Your hair grows in cycles — typically in three phases. When you wax consistently (every 4 weeks), we’re able to target the hair at the ideal stage of growth: when it's just long enough to be removed from the root, but not too long or too short to be missed.

Over time, this consistency weakens the hair follicle, leading to:

  • Finer, softer regrowth

  • Slower hair growth overall

  • Longer-lasting results

  • Less discomfort during waxing

This is why so many of our clients who stay on a regular schedule start to notice their hair coming in lighter and patchier. It’s not magic — it’s maintenance.

What Happens If You Wait Longer?

We totally understand that life gets busy. But when you stretch your waxing appointments beyond the 4–5 week mark (especially into the 6+ week zone), here’s what can happen:

  • More hair follicles have entered the active growth phase again

  • Your wax will likely be longer and more uncomfortable

  • The smooth results don’t last as long

  • You may need to “start over” in resetting your growth cycle

So even if it feels like there’s not much hair by week 6, chances are there are multiple stages of hair coming in at once — and we’re not able to remove them all as effectively.

Why We Offer a Maintenance Discount

We created our maintenance pricing to reward consistency — not necessarily how much hair you have at the time of service, but how long it’s been since your last wax. Think of it like a reward for staying on schedule!

To qualify for our discounted maintenance rate, your service must be within 4 weeks (28 days) of your last visit. If it’s longer than that, we treat it as a standard wax, since your hair growth has likely reset.

TL;DR — Trust the Process

If your hair is coming in thinner or slower — congratulations! That means waxing is working for you. But don’t be tempted to stretch it too far. The real magic happens when you keep coming in regularly and let the results build over time.
